It's great to see your enthusiasm for exploring new games despite the challenges you've mentioned. I completely relate to the struggle of finding the right fit for your group, especially with dynamics like Jim's. Have you considered incorporating some lighthearted elements from games like Funny Shooter 2 ? It might just help lighten the mood during your sessions!

I tried to edit 1 song with dead link (beast in black) but the forum borked the layout. Nothing worked so I give up.

It's great to hear some folks are actually reading your blog! Sounds like you've been busy with RPGs. Helping your friend with Classic Traveller in Fantasy Grounds is a noble quest, especially if it involves avoiding a Mongoose. Scabbard Campaign Manager sounds intriguing, hopefully the extra work pays off. Campaign creation can be like navigating a challenging Snow Rider level, requiring patience and skill. Remember to thank your game host!

Wow, it sounds like you've been busy consuming a ton of great content! With all that world-building and character development, you're practically running your own tabletop RPG empire. Maybe between sessions, you could unwind with something a little lighter. It reminds me of when I'd fire up Papa's Pizzeria for a quick, fun break. I bet you could even find some thematic inspiration there!

The author is facing some life changes and wants to try a new TTRPG system but had a negative experience suggesting Dungeon Crawl Classics to their group due to a player’s strong opposition. They were hoping to run a low-magic Viking campaign, which doesn’t really fit D&D 5e. They discovered “Black Sword Hack” through Professor Dungeon Master on YouTube, a rules-light, d20 roll-under system with Elric/Stormbringer influences. The author is intrigued by its simplicity (10 levels, no XP, simplified combat & spells, DM doesn’t roll) and thinks it would be easier to adapt for a Viking setting than D&D 5e, which is important given their need for something less mentally taxing due to recovering from a stroke. They are asking if anyone has experience with or even heard of Black Sword Hack.

A new journey always brings special inspiration. Wishing the Viking campaign great success. I also just relaxed with a fun game on sprunki phase 3 before reading this article.
